BSA Bantam
A Norwegian restoration project

After Dismantling

After dismatling the whole bike (june 2003), it was time to send the parts to sand-blasting, to get rid of all rust and all fainted paint. It was a good feeling picking it up at the workshop... dry, clean and NO rust left  Yummy !!

The paint-job

The satisfaction getting the bike back from the paintshop in August 2003 was even greater. Take a look at the tank!! The rest of the bike vas also 100% recovered to brand new condition!! All the scratches and other damages was completely taken care of, and it was almost sexual to look at! Robert at R.T.W. Autoskade in Ski Norway did an unbelievable good paint-job, and put the parts in a condition better than new!!! He also managed to mix a colour 97% like the original just by looking at the old paint, UNBELEIVEABLE !!!

The remounting process starts...

Then the real fun begun, remounting the bike. I started this work in the autumn 2003. Taking all the fresh-painted and clean parts, and starting to mount it all back together with new and shiny bolts. On the internet, and from several tips from my good friend Tony, I have got a lot ofe useful tips and found several places to buy spare parts. Have a look at Tony's Bantam site, probably the best one on the internet !!!

Remounting in progress

It's all beginning to come together ! But SLOW....

During spring and summer 2004 i managed to get som of the parts I needed to replace, such as all the rubber parts etc. But I only managed to get hold on one rim. The work and progress almost stoped

I started to dis assamble the engine late autumn 2004, and soon found out I needed a lot of parts.
